Photography

What is photography? It’s a big question and has many answers that are all correct, because it’s a personal approach to how we see things and document them; it’s partly about training the eye to see and observation of detail. However, it is also about luck, right place, and right time.

About me

photography - Elizabeth Wilson

I have always had an interest in photography. My first camera was given to me at the age of 10 and I don’t think that I have put the idea of photography to rest since then. Photography is a living breathing passion that changes daily, but always remains positive.

Doing a photography course pushed me to see things differently and experiment; making the camera your friend by feeling comfortable with it, is half the battle won.

I’m a believer in the eye controlling the camera and the camera guiding the eye…

We are all inspired by different things and to be able to grasp a moment in time through a lens is the making of history. Some say that photography may encourage perfection – and every single photo taken is "perfection" for one person. In my opinion, there is no "bad photo" – only may be in the eyes of the photographer.

We all look at things in a different way and there are many photos of one thing, but taken at different times and angles… the camera doesn't lie – it's how the photographer portrays what they want you to see. What makes a good photographer? Or a perfect photo? Everyone has their own interpretation. For me it's all about sharing, emotion, an idea and the ability to capture what the eye sees and what you allow others to see. I hope that you will enjoy browsing through my site and seeing some of the many happy moments that I have had over the years… a word of advice – if you are able to, always have a camera with you at all times, you just never know when the opportunity will present itself… how many times have I said, "oh I wish I had my camera with me now".

And lastly….

I would like to thank Jack, the site developer who encourages me in every way...
